I love my noisy home. But these days, it’s a lot. Its raucous din is made up of unceasing shrieks, incessant humming, and tap shoes. When a sudden proliferation of loud chewing was added to the line up, I bought ear plugs. But the rest of it? I do love the rest of it, ear-plug free. The List below is the sound track of my home the last six months and I love it all.
The beep beep beep of my 2-year-old making truck sounds at his never-ending, imaginative construction site and cement factory.
My first grader reading aloud. This week, a return to Ivy and Bean.
A child on an all-too-real microphone singing Taylor Swift. Any album, any time, correct lyrics unnecessary.
The washing machine. Always.
The sound machine. Never seems to be off.
Springs of the trampoline, plus giggling. Some crying. Also yelling.
Bonus! The bathtub filling. The rushing water and humming pipes is a sound from my childhood and from my parenthood all at once. It’s both nostalgic and sentimental.
What sounds fill your house everyday? It can include sounds you love or sounds that drive you to buy the expensive ear plugs Instagram is forcing onto your eyeballs (or maybe into your ear holes?) each day.

6 Sounds At Night. More sounds from my life, if you want them!
Oh I love this, the soundtrack of a home filled with healthy and full lives is truly the best. These days my homes soundtrack is filled with the sound my son singing baby shark as he descends down the stairs to pause his singing long enough to submit a request for strawberries.
Ohh I love this! I may be writing my own. Such a fun idea Danielle!
